Gals and guys, here is a mind boggler. Give it a shot, and let me know what you think. Bill

U2 has a concert that starts in 17 minutes and they must all cross a bridge to get there. All four men begin on the same side of the bridge. You must help them get across to the other side. It is night. There is one flashlight. A maximum of two people can cross at one time. Any party who crosses, either one or two people, must have the flashlight with them. The flashlight must be walked back and forth, it cannot be tossed, etc. Each band member walks at a different speed. A pair must walk together at the speed of the slower man's pace. The following are the amount of minutes it takes each man to cross:

Bono - one minute to cross
Edge - two minutes to cross
Adam - five minutes to cross
Larry - ten minutes to cross

For example, if Larry and Bono walk across first, ten minutes will have elapsed by the time they get to the other side of the bridge. If Larry returns with the flashlight, twenty minutes will have passed and you will have failed the mission.

Can you get them all across in seventeen minutes?
